University of the Arts Open House Poster Submission.
My design wasn’t chosen as the final, but I liked the idea enough to take it to finish. I think there are about 60 characters (my favorite is the mermaid).
Here’s my part of the University of the Arts Illustration Thesis Exhibition (also know as the ELY)
I have my comic online, the comic in print format, a poster with an introduction, and a promo post card for people to take away. The first issue of the comic, which is what is printed, is 25 pages long. The comic on the website is a continuing project that updates twice a week.
I was really happy to be able to use my thesis as a jumping point for something I really want to do and continue working on. I feel like I used my time the best I could and created something I’m proud of.
If you’re in Philly, you should check out the show at the University of the Arts at 320 South Broad Street! (It’s in the building with the pillars and the banners). There are plenty of great pieces there that really show all of the different uses for illustration.
For the past two weeks at school, we’ve been doing workshops with visiting artists. I’ve been in the Editorial Workshop with Yelena Bryksenkova. This is the piece I made for an article called “Roomhate” which is about the various reasons why people might fail as roommates.
It’s a Supermurgitroidz family picture!
The line up is Kait, Andy, Dave, Miguel, and Myself.
I kind of did this as a way of saying thanks to the other members of the group for being there for me during my last and most stressful year of school and also as a symbol of togetherness…
and also we are all cute and I wanted to draw us.
My submission for my school’s illustration thesis show.
The concept behind it is that if you work hard and put a lot of effort into your work, eventually your creations will take care of you.
The website for Creep is finally up!
Creep is the comic I’m working on for my senior thesis and as part of that project, I’ve designed the website and plan to update weekly. In an attempt to make full use of the webcomic format, I’ve included animated elements in the design of the website and the pages of the comic itself.
The story is about a teen who gains strange powers after a fruit punch related accident and takes up a life of crime fighting.
If any of that sounds like something you’d be interested in, you should check it out! Click the link in this post or the nifty little fruit punch button in my info.
A little preview of the comic I’m working on for my thesis. Eventually some of these people become super heroes, but on this page they’re just in a coffee shop.
Monster Mondays!
I’m pretty sure I’ve been cast as generic student #1 in one of my professor’s (Patch) comics. Unless he knows some other bespectacled girl with an asymmetrical haircut and a passion for R2D2… which is completely possible, since it’s art school. Either way, I’m just gonna assume this is me.

CHECK OUT HIS STUFF! this is his new webcomic.
Timmy and the Grizz comic! It has the first two Timmy and the Grizz comics (Pizza Problems and Friendly Foes) as well as a brand new 6-page story. Plus new title pages and bonus illustrations. Yay!
I’m going to be selling these at Wizard World Philly, tomorrow. So, if you’re there, stop by and see me!
Also making this available online, if anyone wants one: buy online
